Cher·e doctorant·e,

Pour la prochaine sortie Doctor’Out, nous vous proposons un safari urbain avec le guide Nicolas Buissart de « Charleroi Aventure ». La dernière fois notre guide avait eu un empêchement, cette fois ci c’est la bonne ! Nous sommes heureux de vous convier à un urbex à Charleroi !  

Urbex ? on parle de tourisme de la ruine ou encore de tourisme de l’abandon, l’idée est d’explorer des lieux abandonnés, témoins de nos histoires collectives.  Invitation à découvrir l’urbex ici.

Rendez-vous donc le mercredi 3 mai 2023 à 13h devant la gare de Charleroi-Central.

Pour participer : 

• Envoyer un mail à : doctor.out@ulb.be (attention places limitées)
• Activité offerte par le centre de recherche TRANSFO de Charleroi !
• Être en bonne condition physique, nous allons peut-être faire un peu d'escalade

Doctor’OUT : qu’est-ce que c’est ?   

Il s’agit essentiellement de rencontres entre doctorantes et doctorants (débutant.e.s comme confirmé.e.s), organisées plusieurs fois par an dans la région de Charleroi. Initiées en 2021 par deux membres du centre de recherche TRANSFO à Charleroi (Fleurine, doctorante en anthropologie et Lucas, doctorant en science politique), les après-midi  Doctor'OUT ont pour intention d’offrir un espace de discussion informel et convivial entre doctorant.e.s.

Dear researcher,

For the next doctor’out, we are organising an urban safari with local celebrity guide Nicolas Buissart from Charleroi Aventure. He couldn’t make it to the previous edition so he will make it right this time! We are happy to invite you to an authentic urbex experience in Charleroi!

What’s Urbex ?

It refers to the tourism of ruins, or of abandonment, the idea is to explore abandoned places, the witnesses of our collective history.  If you’d like to know more, you can check out this podcast (in French).

If you’d like to join, we will meet on Wednesday 3rd of May at 1pm in front of Charleroi-Central station.

To participate:

- Send an email to: doctor.out@ulb.be (attention, limited spots)

- Activity offered by the TRANSFO research centre in Charleroi!

- Be in good physical condition, we may do some climbing

What is Doctor’OUT?  

It is essentially informal gatherings of doctoral students (both early-career and advanced), organised several times a year in the region of Charleroi. Initiated in 2021 by two members of the TRANSFO research centre in Charleroi (Fleurine, PhD student in anthropology and Lucas, PhD student in political science), the Doctor'OUT afternoons aim to offer an informal and friendly discussion space between PhD students.
